Originally “D’ouf”:
Came from a french native expression from the Verlan slang referring to “Fou” that means “Crazy”.
"Verlan" is a slang originated in the neighborhoods of France in the 1980s, invented by street kids so that the police wouldn't understand them when they spoke.This expression is often used on the sentence: “un truc d’ouf”, meaning, “a crazy thing”.
